About our Community
Established in 2001, the Ridges of Alexandria comprises 41 single family homes in what was once the Turkeycock Run Park in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County, Virginia. Individual lots average about 0.42 acres, with some exceeding half an acre. Our homes have a traditional brick or stone front, with either an open porch or a portico. Many homes in our community have more than 6,000 sq. ft. of living space, and all have a 2- or 3-car garage. A park-like buffer zone separates our community from surrounding neighborhoods.
Located well inside the Capital Beltway (I-495), some 8 miles southwest of Washington DC, our community enjoys easy access to jobs in our nation's capital, as well as to its museums, theaters, cultural centers, universities and cosmopolitan life. Our access to other employment centers in the Greater Washington D.C. metro area in all directions is also just as easy because of our proximity to major highways. Our children attend the highly-regarded and nationally-acclaimed Fairfax County public school system, as well as several excellent private schools within a 3-4 mile radius. We are close to parks, sports and other recreation facilities, major shopping centers, and hospitals and other medical facilities. The Ronald Reagan National Airport and the Dulles International Airport are, respectively, only about 15 and 35 minutes away. We are a closely-knit community of friendly neighbors, and we like to gather to celebrate holidays at least twice a year.
